  1. Posters! is a quick and easy stickup notes program for Windows.  It is
  2. designed to be simple to use as possible with few fancy features.
  3. Written in Visual Basic 3.0 the program requires the Microsoft
  4. distributable runtime VBRUN300.DLL.

  6. Registration:  Register this program by sending $10 to:

  12. Registration removes the reminder screen/delays and provides you license
  13. to use the program on up to 10 computers you own and operate.

  24. Installation:  Unzip the files to a directory on your hard disk and add
  25. a Posters! icon to your windows startup group.  (The distributable
  26. runtime library THREED.VBX is included.  This file must be present but
  27. may be in the Posters! program directory or your windows system
  28. directory.)  You may use program manager to assign a short-cut key to
  29. the program while/after creating the program icon.

  33.     Directory option:  Posters! will automatically load all existing
  34. notes from the startup directory (changeable each time Posters! is
  35. executed) onto your desktop.  To change the directory during program
  36. operation, use a single right click on the minimized Posters! icon.

  39. Operation:

  41.     Adding notes:  To add a new note, double-click the Posters! icon
  42. and complete the pop-up form and fill in the text of the next and select
  43. OK button.

  45.         Deleting notes:  To delete a note click anywhere in the body of
  46. the note and select the delete button.  Registered users may simply
  47. double-left-click in the body of the note.

  49.         Making a note "stay on top":  To cause a note to become a
  50. topmost window and remain visible above other program windows,
  51. registered users may right click in the body of the note.  A note will
  52. remain "topped" until you select the note for editing with a single left
  53. click.

  55. Keyboard operation:  The notes are designed so you can use the enter key
  56. in a normal fashion.  While entering notes, the text will simply scroll
  57. by when you press return.  It will also use automatic word-wrapping at
  58. the ends of the lines.  You can then use the mouse to select "OK" (or
  59. the ESC key to abort the note) or use tab and return/space to select
  60. "OK".

  62. Notes size:  Notes are initially sized to 1/16 screen width for data
  63. entry and for screen placement.  If your information exceeds this
  64. length, the note will be extended automatically until it is sufficient
  65. to hold the entire note entered.  This may result in overlap of
  66. succeeding notes.

  68. Notes arrangement:  Notes are automatically sized and placed to allow 12
  69. notes per screen.  Additional notes are place in an overlay fashion on
  70. the previous screen of notes slightly lower and to the right of the
  71. previous layer.

  73. Program Termination:  The program terminates automatically when windows
  74. terminates.  Alternatively, you may use the program managers task list
  75. to end the program.  Notes are saved when they are entered and deleted
  76. when requested, therefore, all notes on the screen at termination will
  77. be restored when the program is loaded again if the same directory is
  78. used/specified.

  99. "Known" errors - if program is terminated via program task manager, it
  100. periodically displays a "new" note before allowing the program to
  101. terminate.  You may cancel this new note by pressing ESC and the
  102. situation is avoided by allowing the program to terminate only when
  103. windows terminates.
